10 real estate & design blogs to read in quarantine and beyond

I spend a lot of time scouring Instagram and the internet for people building businesses like ours: entrepreneurs focused on real estate investing and design. Their stories and photos are a huge source of inspiration. If you're looking to enhance your knowledge of these subjects during quarantine and beyond, here's a reading list to get you started!

1) Flipping Seattle

Flipping Seattle shares a combination of design tips and real estate investing advice. I especially love the before & after exterior renovations that they share. They really know how to amp up the curb appeal!

2) Spruce and Pine

This San Jose couple doesn't just flip houses -- they bring an artist's eye and the craftsmanship of a yacht builder! Plus I love the project progress shared on their blog. So much renovation talk on social media is simply the before and afters, but I appreciate how Spruce and Pine shares details in between. I like seeing the demo, plans and design boards!

3) Flippin Wendy

Wendy also has her own podcast, so that's a fun listen when you're on the go. I'm into the course she's offering right now where you can update your home in quarantine without renovating it. No tiling, no demo and no big dollars spent.

4) InvestFourMore

Matt actually got me into this blog. Mark Ferguson is very motivational! He's flipped dozens of houses and he offers great advice. He also churns out a ton of content so if you're bored in quarantine, there's a ton of material to dig into here.

5) Flipping junkie

I actually found Flipping Junkie when searching for a new podcast to get into. Dan is also on Instagram. I've definitely gotten a ton of little educational nuggets on house flipping from all his channels. I recommend you check him out!

6) The Restoring House

This map cabinet is one of my favorite things that Laura has shared and I think it's a great example of her design style. I love how her flips seamlessly incorporate stunning pieces of vintage furniture. She really knows how to elevate a room while her spaces also exude calm and cozy. Laura is also an artist. Make sure you follow her on Instagram!

7) The Chris and Claude Co.

I just recently stumbled upon these two after Dwell featured a Pennsylvania row home they renovated. It's so well done and it also boasts my favorite color palette: moody green & blush pink. In... love... I also love to read about couples who renovate together, since that's what we do too.

8) Anchor Loans

This is not just a hard money website. Steve offers a lot of great content in his blog: book reviews, real estate investing insight and interviews. I also love seeing the before and after photos he shares on Instagram of the projects his company has funded!

9) Rentals to Wealth

Here's another couple who flips together and they are on fire! They are also house hackers and they are from Jersey, just like us. They share all the details of their first three flips on the blog and on Instagram. They're not afraid of hard work and getting their hands dirty. Unstoppable. Love it! I really enjoy following their progress tackling these projects.

10) Schoolside Design

Ashley's design aesthetic is super bright and cheerful. Like a breathe of fresh air, which we could all really use right now! Her images are so inspiring and she also shares some of my favorite things like cane furniture and a vintage hutch.
